PIMP YOUR JEANS!

The no-shrug-no-stole for our wedding invitation is finished - the dress still has to dry.  That's why we 'pimped' my jeans and did some quick photos. I like the design and will knit a second (improved) version :-) :

Tribute (to Mrs. Hunter) - my new free pattern!

Viel Spass beim Nacharbeiten!

A classic shawl-form for a classic stitch combination: either colorful or rather in semisolid this pattern puts you into a good mood.

And at the end of the winter i really felt like having something colorful :-)

Have fun with the pattern!

MysterKAL? MysterKAL!

Why is Lace (knitting with a lot of holes, very thin yarn (yardage of 800m/100gr or thinner) and thick needles) always made in solid (or semisolid) colours???

Good question - isn't it???

Well, i think there has to be done something and that's why i am planning my first MysteryKAL!
"Mystery", because the participants don't really know what they are going to knit - they only know some hints like if it's a dress, a cap or a shawl. Perhaps some more information about yarn, needles and form.
"KAL" means "Knit ALong": a group of people knitting the same 'something' of which they don't know what it will look like.

Sounds funny?? Well, it is! Lot of fun and lot of motivation!

More information about the MysteryKAL soon in this blog.

HOLST-Blanket-KAL

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH - i got my first parcel with 11 wonderful colours of  Holst !!!

But back to the beginning: 14 knitters from the knit-meeting i regularly attend decided to knit a patched blanket from all the 88 wonderful Holst colours - like making a 'shade-card' :-) Dear Andrea was so kind to organize the order and together with Christina they came up with 16 little boxes, each having 11 colours. Every knitter ordered additionally a cone for the border-colour. We are 2 groups of 7 knitters each and will change the boxes every 6 weeks, so that every knitter will have a patch of each colour at the end. Then we will patch the blanket and although every knitter used the same colours we will have 16 different blankets ♥ Isn't that lovely????

Ok, nun aber ein paar Fotos! Zuerst meine Rand-Farbe:
Ok, now some pictures! First my border colour:

Since we make 8 blankets from each 50 gr-skein every knitter may use 6 gr for each patch - so i made little skeins from each colour:
And as add-on i can make my own shade-card.

This is the beginning of a new patch. I knit for more than 35 years now and still learn new things: the circular cast on!

When the patch is finished it looks like that:
And then you can simply pull together the little hole in the middle:
Und hier nochmal all meine Arbeitsutentilien in einer eigenen Kiste:
And here again all the stuff i have to use in my own little box:

No shrug no stole

Slowly it's growing, my 'Over' matching the dress I chose for the wedding invitation. Like I said in the subject: it's no shrug and no stole but a mixture of both. Since i didn't find a pattern i came up with my own design.
If you like the idea for the 'no shrug no stole'-thing please leave a comment and perhaps this will be my first  pattern for a real 'clothing'-thing :-)

The 'Thing' will have a total length of about 50 cm.

It's magic....

WOW - some things that happen have something magical! Being half asleep on the couch with the TV mumbling in the background i somehow notice, that there is something on TV about the blog of Alegra: a young fashion-crazy woman looking for an outfit for a wedding invitation.

Also schnell in den Blog gewechselt - einfach toll! Da werde ich Dauergast werden ♥
WHAT - what was that???? I was looking myself for something like that for the last WEEKS (wearing european 54/56) - i mean REALLY BAD! So: i quickly had a look at the blog - really amazing!

Was bei meiner eigenen Suche rauskam??
What about my own outfit? Well, we did a lot of photos to compare and i  decided for a DRESS ( i usually NEVER wear dresses!):

I designed something by myself to wear 'over' the dress and to add some colour:
The yarn is from the "zauberwiese" and the rest is just improvised =>

If the new design of a "bolero-shrug-stole-scarf-whatsoever" will not work out i will wear  my new cape:
